First check settings for Capacity Requirement Planning:
1. In Work Centers,
a. Finite scheduling indicator should be checked.
b. Standard Value key for activities.
c. Control key with Scheduling indicator & Capacity requirement indicator is checked.
d. Grouping key(For shift definition or shift sequence) is maintained.
e. Operating time
f. Factory Calendar (For no. of working days)
g. Capacity Utilization in %
h. Relevant to finite scheduling indicator is checked.
i. No. of individual capacity.
j. Formula for activities.
2. In Routing,
a. Standard values (Planned Time) for activities in operation(s).
b. Operation with specific work center and control key.
For Capacity Planning, first need to evaluate the capacity for the work-center which can be done using Tcode - CM01, CM02, CM03, CM04, CM05.
After capacity evaluation, if you are getting overload or underload, then you can go for capacity leveling.
